SOUTHAMPTON, UK — Citing a rapidly escalating humanitarian crisis, President Donald Trump officially authorized the deployment of the 82nd Airborne Division to the United Kingdom on Friday, tasking the US military with a critical peacekeeping mission of protecting law-abiding British citizens from the imminent threat of their own law enforcement.
The emergency intervention aims to restore basic law and order and ensure equal application of the law, which is apparently no longer standard practice in the British Isles.
“It’s very sad, frankly, what’s happening over there,” Trump told reporters on the South Lawn. “You have people getting sliced up, and the police come in and say, ‘Excuse me, do you have a permit to bleed on this gentleman’s machete?’ We can’t let it happen. Our brave American troops are going in to do what the UK authorities refuse to do, which is absolutely nothing to the victims.”
Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the American military intervention, adding that he is actively working on a new policy to mandate that all UK citizens carry a government-issued “Apology Card” to hand to their assailants during a mugging, to help streamline the interaction and prevent unnecessary police paperwork.
At press time, a tense standoff was underway in Manchester after a platoon of US Marines refused to let local police interrogate an assault victim about his past social media posts. In response, frustrated British officers retreated to their cruisers to aggressively fill out a hurt-feelings complaint form.
