WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump reportedly added another sticky note to the White House refrigerator Friday reminding himself to send out the various checks he has promised Americans, according to administration officials who said the growing collection of notes was beginning to obscure the refrigerator entirely.
The newest note, written in large black letters, reads “$5,000 MIDTERM CHECK” and was placed alongside several older reminders labeled “DOGE DIVIDEND,” “TARIFF CHECKS,” and “SEND MONEY.” Trump unveiled his latest proposed payment Wednesday, promising a $5,000 “Trump Dividend” to every adult U.S. citizen if Republicans retain control of the House and Senate in November.
“I just wanted to make sure we don’t lose track of all these checks,” Trump said. “There’s the DOGE check, the tariff check, the new check, and there may be some other checks. I have a very good memory, but there are a lot of checks.”
The refrigerator has since become so heavily covered with notes that staff members have reportedly had to remove several from the freezer door simply to locate the ice dispenser.
“The checks are practically in the mail, folks,” Trump assured reporters. “We’re going to get to all of them just as soon as somebody finds the White House checkbook.”
At press time, the Secret Service had reportedly ordered a second commercial-grade kitchen appliance for the Oval Office after the president’s “Send Cash” reminders began spilling over onto the microwave.
