KIEV, UKRAINE– After news broke that his administration was being investigated for massive corruption, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed genuine confusion over why the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) was suddenly investigating him.
The Ukrainian leader appeared genuinely perplexed by the anti-corruption investigation into his administration to find out why billions of dollars in aid for the war against Russia ended up funding his lavish lifestyle, including a third luxury mansion, insisting he couldn’t understand what might have triggered such scrutiny.
“I don’t understand how this could’ve happened, it’s baffling,” Zelensky mused, using the sleeve of his expensive fur coat to wipe his nose. “I’m sure this corruption probe has nothing to do with this fur coat and jewelry, my new yacht, and third home I just purchased. I mean, honestly it makes no sense. All of these items are necessary to defeat Russia.”
President Zelensky, however, remains optimistic that this entire affair is merely a misunderstanding.
“This is clearly a distraction from our war effort,” Zelensky insisted, standing beneath a chandelier estimated to cost more than a dozen Javelin missiles. “The real question is: why are we investigating me when we should be investigating, you know, other people who are not me. Hey, perhaps the real corruption was the friends we made along the way.”
When asked about the billions in military aid sent by Western nations, Zelensky pulled out a crumpled receipt from his pocket. “It’s all here. See? This one is for the $100,000 fur coat I need to keep me warm as I walk to my private jet. Yeah, that’s it, various necessary war stuff. So, I’m very perplexed about these accusations.”
At press time, Zelensky decided to just bury his face into a pile of coke and blame the whole thing on Russian disinformation.
