WASHINGTON — Calling it the most disturbing evidence to date of a pattern the American people can no longer ignore, senior Democratic officials confirmed they have released a new video appearing to show California gubernatorial candidate Eric Swalwell abandoning a shopping cart in the middle of a grocery store parking lot and simply walking away.
The devastating two-minute clip, which sources described as chilling in its casualness, shows Swalwell loading three bags of groceries into his vehicle before glancing directly at the designated cart corral just fifteen feet away, shrugging, and violently leaving his cart in the middle of the parking lot before maliciously driving off.
“We have always tolerated, and frankly encouraged, a certain level of moral bankruptcy in the Democrat party,” said former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, trying to hold back tears. “But leaving a shopping cart in the middle of a parking lot? This is the behavior of a deeply sick man. The American people deserve leaders who respect basic human decency. If this doesn’t end Mr. Swalwell’s career, then nothing will.”
According to a recent poll conducted shortly after the video’s release, Swalwell’s support collapsed among key voter groups, including people who have ever parked a car and anyone who has ever had their vehicle gently tapped by a rogue cart on a windy day.
At press time, a tearful and defeated Swalwell was officially suspending his campaign for governor, coming to the grim realization that while the American public will gleefully turn a blind eye to widespread political corruption and sexual deviancy, they will never forgive a lazy cart-leaver.
