PORTLAND, OREGON — Local liberal woman Karen Mitchell reportedly spent Halloween evening questioning neighborhood children about their political beliefs before allowing them to receive candy, asking each trick-or-treater whether they supported President Donald Trump and refusing to distribute treats to those who expressed support for the president.
According to witnesses, Mitchell angrily greeted each child at the door by asking whether they were a Trump supporter, with follow-up questions about immigration, abortion, and whether they believed the 2020 election was stolen. Children who answered incorrectly were reportedly instructed to leave the porch immediately, while those who expressed opposition to Trump were permitted to select two pieces of candy.
“I don’t care if you’re only six years old,” said Mitchell frantically to a group of children standing in front of her doorstep. “You need to understand that your choices have consequences. I’m not going to reward you if you are actively destroying democracy. That would make me complicit.”
At one point, Mitchell reportedly became visibly agitated after an eight-year-old boy wearing a Spider-Man costume admitted he didn’t know who Trump was.
“That’s exactly the problem,” she said. “They’re not teaching you anything. They’re just letting you run around collecting candy while fascism takes hold.”
Mitchell reportedly celebrated the successful evening by dumping the remaining candy into a nearby storm drain, explaining that she would rather see it go to waste than risk a single piece falling into the hands of a future Trump voter.
