WASHINGTON– After seeing the writing on the wall, Texas Republican Dan Crenshaw congratulated his colleague on nabbing an oversight position he had hoped to get and also stated that he now has his eye set on a new role and will wait to see if things start finally looking up for him.
While giving a teary-eyed interview on Fox News show Hannity, Crenshaw said he’s looking toward the future by keeping an eye out for any House positions that may open up at a later time.
“Long time no see, Sean,” said Crenshaw as he made direct eye contact with the host. “I’m trying to look at the bright side. Looking back, I can see my time in Congress has been a real eye opener. I’ve seen the error of my ways and will try not to lose sight of the things I may have missed. I’ll definitely take a wait and see approach for now on.”
During the eye catching interview, Crenshaw admitted that he turned a blind eye to some of his past actions and that he has never truly seen eye to eye with some of his fellow Republicans for calling him out for being a RINO Eyepatch McCain clone.
“Sean, I want the American people to look me in the eye and know that I won’t lose sight of my duties as a member of Congress,” said Crenshaw while looking around the left side of the room. “Even though some people accuse me of being out of sight out of mind with my district, I promise I won’t look away from the voters who got me elected.”
The Texas Republican ended the interview by saying he’ll take a long, hard look at leading a new oversight committee role and will continue to turn a blind eye to all the criticisms hurled at him while he remains in the public eye.
