U.S.– After Spotify removed Neil Young’s music due to the singer’s ultimatum, a few other aging musicians came to Young’s defense by saying they too will pull all their vinyl records and 8-track tapes if the streaming service doesn’t reinstate Young and ban Joe Rogan.
The controversy started when Young accused Joe Rogan of spreading dangerous COVID misinformation, such as people being responsible for their own health and not just blindly trusting the government to forcefully inject a side effect-riddled vaccine into people that doesn’t even work.
“Spotify is spreading dangerous medical information by leaving John Reagan on their program,” said Young in the statement, referring to Joe Rogan. “I want Spotify to choose right now between me and my hip songs that all the young people in their eighties are cranking on their record players or some bald guy with a show that gets a measly 11 million listeners per episode. Ha, should be an easy choice, Spotify.”
Once Spotify took down Young’s music, a few of his fellow geriatric musicians also gave Spotify an ultimatum, saying that if the streaming service doesn’t remove Rogan’s podcast then the entertainers promise to never play at another disco hall, ballroom, or skating rink ever again.
Two of the artists who came to Young’s defense were Barry Manilow and Peter Frampton, who both said that people shouldn’t listen to anything Joe Rogan says, but should definitely listen to mainstream leftwing news outlets like CNN and MSNBC because they would never lie or try to deceive anyone for financial or political gain.
At the time of this writing a few other vintage musicians have also joined in on Neil Young’s protest, including Gypsy Boots, Edison Lighthouse, Victor Lundberg, and Lord Sitar.
