ELLSWORTH, MAINE — Calling it the most difficult decision of his life, embattled Democratic Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner held an emergency press conference Wednesday morning to publicly accuse Graham Platner of sexual assault, becoming the latest in a growing list of people to level serious allegations against Graham Platner.
Platner told reporters he had firsthand knowledge of the accused’s behavior spanning several decades and described himself as “uniquely qualified” to testify about Graham Platner’s character.
“I’ve lived with this monster my entire life,” a tearful Platner told reporters. “Every single day, I look in the mirror, and there he is. I can no longer remain silent about the horrific things Graham Platner has done to me over the years. I’ve spent more time around Graham Platner than anyone. Believe me when I say you don’t want to be left alone with Graham Platner.”
The unexpected development reportedly sent campaign staff scrambling to determine whether they should issue a statement supporting their candidate, condemning their candidate, or demanding that their candidate immediately suspend his campaign against their candidate.
At press time, Platner had announced he was prepared to testify against himself, aggressively cross-examine himself, and dismiss his own testimony as a politically motivated smear campaign orchestrated by himself.
