MANHATTAN, NEW YORK– It was a tense moment on the set of children’s television show Sesame Street after Muppet actor Oscar the Grouch called ICE immigration to report Big Bird’s Mexican cousin Abelardo Montoya overstaying his visit from Mexico.
The always angry Oscar the Grouch watched with sheer delight as a few well-armed ICE agents stormed the Sesame Street set to arrest Abelardo, who was here on a work visa that had apparently expired months ago.
“Yeah, um, I’d like to report an illegal alien who’s overstayed his welcome,” said Oscar the Grouch over the phone to the immigration tip line. “He’s here illegally from Mexico and his name’s Abelardo. And you didn’t hear this from me, but his cousin Big Bird knows he’s here illegally and has been hiding him from authorities.”
Apparently the call to ICE was an act of revenge due to an altercation the other day between Oscar and Big Bird when the tall, yellow bird told the misanthropic green Muppet to “Have a nice day,” which angered the trashcan-bound Oscar who admittedly hates everything and everyone.
Also arrested with Abelardo was Big Bird for knowingly harboring an illegal alien, and now faces a penalty of up to five years in prison. Border Czar Tom Homan stated he is also asking the Attorney General if she can bring charges against New York Congresswoman AOC for the webinar she held trying to give advice to the Sesame Street character on how to avoid being deported.
