SEATTLE, WASHINGTON– A small neighborhood in Seattle is being terrorized by a wild tree’s bark and residents say that they’ve had enough.
Police say a group of neighbors have come together and are petitioning their local government officials to do something about a rogue tree that is going around town disturbing people as they try to sleep at night.
No one knows who the tree belongs to, but some residents claim that the tree’s owner is a local environmentalist who is known to take in stray trees that other people have abandoned.
“I’m seriously thinking about moving,” said 37 year old Kerry Pike who claims the tree likes to stand motionless within her yard at night and purposely harass her. “I’m so tired of this. I’ve hardly gotten any sleep in months, thanks to this tree’s bark.”
With their numerous complaints to politicians falling on deaf ears, many frustrated residents have taken matters into the own hands.
Resident Bill Ballard, 44, says that for the past six weeks the infamous tree has become such an annoyance that he has attempted to kill it on multiple occasions.
“The tree bark is always there,” said Ballard, showing local Fox News reporters the poisonous herbicide that he puts into a bowl in the hopes that the tree will drink it. “I’m not a tree hater. I actually love trees. I have a few of my own, but this tree is just purely evil.”
Authorities are warning residents to be extra cautious when coming in contact with the tree bark due to its unpredictable nature.
Even though the tree hasn’t attacked anyone yet, police stated that eight pet dogs have recently gone missing and every one of them was last seen urinating onto the tree.
