SEATTLE, WASHINGTON– A Seattle man was arrested today by police inside a local park for a string of leaf blowing incidents, ending a five year search for the man known in news media outlets as the Leaf Blower.
Baxter Higgins, 49, was arrested at 7:54 a.m. for being a serial leaf blower and for failure to submit to arrest after getting caught three weeks ago in another park with three oak leaves inside his mouth.

According to police, an officer was paroling the local park early this morning in the hopes of catching teenagers making out when he came upon a naked Higgins, who was lying on the ground with leaves stuffed into various parts of his body and blowing other leaves with his lips.
“Mr. Higgins is a serial leaf blower,” said Detective Don Balderdash with the Seattle crime unit. “After getting a DNA sample from Mr. Higgins, we were able to connect him with multiple counts of leaf blowing dating all the way back to ten autumns ago.
“Several leaves have come forward,” he added, “and admitted that they too were victims of Mr. Higgins and his foul breath. So, in accordance with Seattle law, Mr. Higgins will stand trial for his crimes and face the death penalty.”
Update: After this article was written, it was reported that Baxter Higgins was released due to all the leaf witnesses being burned into a large pile of ashes.
