Kennedy Jr.’s “reckless” policies, warning that the HHS chief’s anti-pharma crusade poses an “existential threat” to the senator’s lucrative Big Pharma donation pipeline.
Sen. Bernie Sanders, known for his progressive rhetoric and “socialist” ideals, expressed deep concern that RFK Jr.’s efforts to curb pharmaceutical profiteering and promote transparency in medical research could “devastate” his own campaign coffers.
“Make no mistake, comrades,” Bernie Sanders declared, wearing his signature blue and white Pfizer jacket. “RFK Jr.’s war on Big Pharma is nothing short of a declaration of war on the very fabric of our democracy-or at least, on my ability to afford a third vacation home in Vermont.”
According to FEC filings, Sanders has raked in millions from pharmaceutical giants like Pfizer and Merck since his 2016 presidential run, despite his frequent denunciations of “greedy corporations.” The senator has long been accused of hypocrisy for accepting industry cash while championing Medicare for All and other progressive healthcare reforms.
RFK Jr., a vocal critic of vaccine profiteering and medical corruption, has vowed to “drain the swamp” at HHS and hold pharmaceutical companies accountable for their role in the opioid crisis and other public health disasters.
