WASHINGTON– In an effort to prove one of her male Republican colleagues wrong who told her she can’t walk and chew gum at the same time, Congresswoman AOC started chewing bubblegum and walking before falling over and biting her tongue after only about two feet.
The idiom walk and chew gum at the same time means being able to do two trivial tasks at the same time, but New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took the politician’s insult quite literally.
“I am a strong and independent woman who can do anything one of my male colleagues can do,” said AOC aloud while news cameras recorded the event. “I’ll prove it to everyone right now. I want all you news camera people to record this and post it all over social media. I want the world to see just how much smarterer I am than these sexist Republicans.”
AOC immediately began prancing around arrogantly to prove how she can both walk and chew gum at the same time, only to be told by reporters that she has to put the chewing gum in her mouth first not just chew on her gums.”
“Oh yeah, like, I knew that,” said AOC as one of her aides handed her a stick of gum. “Like, I don’t need anyone’s help with this. I know I can really do this if I set my mind to it. I’m smart, I’m beautiful, I’m talented, and doggonit everyone likes me.”
After another Congressman told her to just hold her horses, AOC snapped back and said, “How can I hold my horses when I don’t have any. It looks like you’re the idiot around here, not me.”
