U.S.– There was sad news this week after it was reported that world-famous Japanese Shiba Inu dog Kabosu had passed away at the age of 18-years-old, with millions of Americans sending their regards and petitioning the government to replace the statue of career criminal George Floyd with a sculpture likeness of the Dogecoin-inspired canine.
Kabosu had become an internet meme and was the inspiration for the Dogecoin cryptocurrency, prompting a large majority of people to recognize the dog’s positive mark in history and calls for a statue to be made to someone who actually deserves to be heralded as a hero.
The petition to replace George Floyd with Kabosu had already garnered over 50 million votes as of the day of the dog’s death and also voted to put to rest once and for all the idea that Floyd was a martyr or saint.
“Um, yeah, it’s not really a tough decision, Kabosu was a legend,” wrote one person on Twitter X. “Unlike George Floyd, Kabosu wasn’t a violent animal. Rest in peace.”
A few high-profile people have voiced their disagreement at creating a statue for the dog Kabosu, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, Michael Vick, and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem.
