SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA– In an effort to address extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation, Elon Musk tweeted out that he has solved the problem and is temporarily limiting users by only allowing people with a first name that begins with the letter “Z” and only on Saturdays between the hours of 1:03 AM and 2:37 AM.
As thousands of users reported having problems accessing the social media site or even reading tweets, Musk said that last night he had a brief moment of clarity and then had his engineers enable all the Zekes, Zacharys, Zanes, and other Zions access to Twitter for about an hour an a half on Saturdays before dawn.
“To address extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation,” tweeted Elon later on in the day, “we’ve applied the following temporary limits: Only accounts whose name beings with the letter ‘Z’ can access Twitter every Saturday between the hours of 1:03am and 2:37 am. Qapla’!”
The CEO added that over time he will slowly add more names starting with different letters of the alphabet, saying that in two months he will begin allowing users with a name that begins with the letter “Q” to access Twitter on Thursdays between 4:32 am and 5:11 am.
