DENVER, COLORADO– When most people think of playing a game of cat and mouse they automatically assume that a large, ferocious feline is chasing a tiny, skittish mouse, but not in this case.
Meet the mouse named Leviathan. Leviathan is a 400 pound, five foot tall behemoth who some experts say is a scientific experiment gone awry. Leviathan is a former laboratory animal that scientists injected with an experimental drug that surprisingly caused the little guy to grow to such a gigantic size.
Dr. Bill Frankenstein, one of the scientists who was working with Leviathan when he was still mouse-size, says that whatever was in the drug that they injected into the mouse caused him to seek vengeance or anyone or anything that has ever hurt fellow mice.
“It’s safe to say that we’ve created our own Frankenstein’s monster,” joked Dr. Frankenstein to a Science Daily reporter. “After injecting Leviathan with a growth hormone serum that was being tested for use on midgets to help them grow to average human size, the mouse suddenly started expanding before our very eyes. Within two days he was up to 150 pounds.
“Unfortunately though,” the doctor continued, “one of the side effects of the experimental drug is that it causes subjects to experience extreme internal rage and seek out revenge on people and other animals that have wronged its kind.
“In this case, Leviathan is getting back at any cat that’s ever caught a mouse, any old woman that’s ever chased a rodent with a shoe, or any scientist that’s ever used mice as test subjects in dangerous laboratory experiments, such as this one.”
Even though Leviathan has already caught twenty-one cats, mauled nine elderly women, and has killed thirty-two scientists as they exited their homes on their way to work, Dr. Frankenstein wants us to know that, due to the effects of the drug, Leviathan’s lifespan will be cut short.
“Just let Leviathan do his thing,” he added as he bolted the door to his laboratory after seeing Leviathan waiting outside. “I give him five, maybe six more weeks until he drops dead of a heart attack after all the stress of being angry all the time finally kills him.”
