SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS– Flanked by Antifa rioters in black bloc gear throwing Molotov cocktails, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker stood defiantly in front of his burning Governor’s Mansion and declared, “Nothing to see here, folks. Move along. Just another lovely day in the Prairie State.”
The mansion’s facade crumbled behind him as flames engulfed the historic structure, while chants of “Burn it down!” echoed through the streets. Unfazed, Gov. Pritzker waved his meaty arms around in the air and continued, “President Trump’s claims of chaos in Illinois are simply not supported by the facts. This is just… uh… a controlled burn! We’re testing the fire alarms! And it looks like they work!””
When questioned about the Molotov cocktails being hurled at the National Guard troops deployed to quell the violence, JB Pritzker smirked, “Oh, those? Just enthusiastic residents engaging in… civic dialogue. Nothing to worry about.”
Antifa rioters nearby were seen spray-painting “ACAB” on the smoldering walls while another group chanted “Death to ICE!” Pritzker nodded approvingly, saying, “It’s heartening to see our youth so passionately engaged in the democratic process.”
Meanwhile, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued a statement confirming over 200 arrests and 50 injuries since the riots began, but Pritzker dismissed these figures as “alternative facts.”
The Democratic National Committee has praised Pritzker’s “courageous commitment to downplaying civil unrest,” while CNN called the mostly peaceful protest a “breathtaking display of democracy in action.”
