MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA — In an effort to show solidarity with the Somali daycare owners accused of defrauding taxpayers out of billions, a group of Hollywood’s most vocal anti-Trump, anti-ICE liberal celebrities were spotted wearing blackface while protesting the recent federal crackdown on the massive Minnesota fraud ring involving Somali immigrants.
A-list celebrities including Mark Ruffalo, Natalie Portman, and Billie Eilish announced their intention to amplify marginalized voices by painting their faces, necks, and hands a deep, glossy black using non-toxic, ethically sourced shoe polish.
“We stand with our black Somali brothers and sisters against the fascist white Trump regime,” Ruffalo declared defiantly, giving the black power fist symbol to a group of confused Somalis. “We must stop the racist ICE raids now. America was built by hardworking Somalis like George Jefferson Washington and Benjamin Shaquille Franklin.”
When asked by reporters if wearing blackface was considered racist and offensive to the Somalis and black Americans in general, Ruffalo snapped back, saying, “Wearing blackface is my way of showing the oppressed Somalis that I see them and I am them. I’m not Mark Ruffalo anymore. I’m a black man for justice. Wakanda forever.”
At press time, other celebrities with blackface experience were reportedly planning on joining in on the Minnesota protests, including Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman, and Howard Stern.
