BERLIN, GERMANY– In response to the mass stabbings being perpetrated by immigrants, stab-proof vests have become the number one requested gift in Germany this season, with safety-conscious citizens clamoring for the protective gear to shield themselves from the rising tide of knife attacks by foreign immigrants, mostly Muslim and African, against native white Germans.
In major cities like Berlin and Munich, retailers report selling out of the vests, which range from $500 to $2,000 depending on the level of protection. Many buyers are purchasing them as gifts for loved ones, particularly women and the elderly, who feel increasingly vulnerable to random stabbings on public transportation and in shopping districts.
“This is the new normal,” said Helga Müller, a 62-year-old retiree who bought three vests for her grandchildren. “You can’t walk down the street without seeing some Arab or African man eyeing you like a slab of pork at a halal butcher. It’s only a matter of time before they strike.”
The demand surge follows a string of high-profile attacks, including the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old German girl by a Syrian refugee in Hamburg last month. Police statistics show that non-European migrants are responsible for over 70% of violent crimes in major urban areas, despite making up less than 10% of the population.
Critics blame the Merkel government’s open-door immigration policy for the surge in violence, pointing to data that shows crime rates have increased by 50% since the 2015 migrant crisis.
“It’s like they want us to be victims,” said Jürgen Weber, a father of two who now wears a vest whenever leaving his home. “But we won’t be sheep to the slaughter. We’ll armor up and take back our streets. I’d rather be stabbed than wear a hijab.”
While some liberals have condemned the trend as “xenophobic hysteria,” most Germans see it as a necessary step in a country where multiculturalism has become synonymous with multicultural violence. As one vest-buyer quipped, “Better safe than shahid.”
