U.S.– American rental company U-Haul announced record profits this quarter, citing an unprecedented surge in one-way rentals from Democrat-controlled states to their Republican counterparts, with industry insiders attributing the boom to a mass exodus of liberal voters fleeing the very problems they helped create through decades of poor governance.
“I just couldn’t take the crime, inflation, and homelessness anymore,” said Karen Jenkins, a former San Francisco resident now bound for Texas. “But I’m taking my progressive vote with me. I hear Texas needs more crime, inflation, homelessness, and also gender-neutral bathrooms while we’re at it.”
U-Haul spokesperson Bryan Horton confirmed the trend, noting that 75% of recent rentals originated from California, New York, and Illinois, with the majority headed to Florida, Arizona, Texas, and Tennessee.
“It’s not just people moving, it’s ideologies,” Horton observed. “Historically, our core demographic was college students and families starting new jobs. Now, our primary driver is the Progressive Pioneer, a brave individual fleeing the consequences of their own voting patterns.”
Critics argue that these Democrat voters are simply exporting their failed policies to unsuspecting red states, where they plan to vote for the same brand of progressive politicians who turned their previous homes into dystopias.
“It’s like watching a pyromaniac move to a new neighborhood,” lamented Texas Governor Greg Abbott. “We’re bracing for a surge in requests for free everything and demands to defund our police. Maybe they’ll be enough money in the state’s budget to build a wall around Texas.”
In response, U-Haul has introduced a new “Blue-to-Red” moving package, complete with complimentary copies of The Communist Manifesto and a “How to Turn Your New Town into Portland” guidebook.
