OTTAWA, CANADA– During a Rideau Hall news conference where he vowed to start being more transparent, Prime Minister Mark Carney responded to a reporter’s question about his horrible public speaking skills by inviting his speechwriter Porky Pig up onstage to give the Looney Tunes actor credit for crafting all of his “um,” “uh,” and “you know”-filled incoherent speeches.
The sudden revelation that the stuttering, stammering Porky Pig has been Mark Carney’s speechwriter all along was met with widespread mockery in Canada, but also finally offered an explanation as to why the Canadian prime minister has the oratory skills of a moose reading Shakespeare.
“Um, yeah, uh, hello, I, uh, I’d like bring a special, you know, individual on stage,” said Mark Carney as Porky Pig made his way onto the stage to stand next to the podium. “Yeah, I, uh, I’d like to thank my, um, speechwriter P-P-P-Porky Pig. He’s, b-dee, b-dee, been the best writer I, um, ever s-s-s-seen. Well, you know, that’s all, folks.”
After giving Carney the “elbow’s up” gesture and then waddling up to the podium, Porky Pig admitted that the prime minister doesn’t actually need a speechwriter being that he was born so naturally gifted in the art of public speaking and possesses more eloquent oratory skills than the late Winston Churchill.
Former Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre blasted Carney for hiring a cartoon character with such a horrible speech impediment as his speechwriter, saying the prime minister could have at least picked one with much better speaking skills such as Elmer Fudd.
