NEW YORK, NEW YORK– A recent article from one of America’s oldest newspapers The New York Times has called for people who post mean memes of politicians online to be investigated and possibly even arrested, saying that it is in no way hypocritical of them after they posted decades of political cartoons memeing politicians themselves.
“Donald Trump’s troll army of memers must be stopped at all costs,” wrote Ima Schmuckington in the recent Times article. “Flooding social media with pro-Trump, anti-Biden memes are a threat to democracy. Anyone who posts these so-called funny memes or make political cartoons pointing out the follies of our elected politicians needs to be investigated at the least, and imprisoned for life at the most.”
The article went on to say that there was absolutely nothing wrong with all the political satire by The New York Times over the years because it was different when they did it.
“Can’t you see the difference?” Schmuckington asked his readers with two almost identical political memes attached. “The one on the left was by us, and the one on the right was not by us. Therefore, ours is okay and theirs is not. Ours is intellectual, theirs is misinformation”
Schmuckington said the large influx of meme-makers have caused him many sleepless nights, and was even forced to quadruple his COVID booster shot treatments in response to all the people that hurt his feelings.
In order to protect democracy, the Times have called on President Biden to do away with the upcoming presidential election, ban the internet, ban all speech, and to imprison everyone in the country. Except for them, of course.
