WASHINGTON– Democrat politicians held a prayer and candle vigil early this morning for slain military hero Qassem Soleimani, calling the Iranian general one of the greatest heroes who has ever served his country.
After Republican President Donald Trump personally flew a fighter jet over to Iran and completely annihilated the 62 year old general, Democrats took to Twitter to condemn Trump’s ruthless attack on the once peaceful, churchgoing family man.
According to a tweet by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Tehran’s former military commander was a talented poet and a kind and loving soul who was on his way to church after rescuing four dogs and six babies out of a burning building when madman Trump launched his warmongering orange-skinned tirade.
“Soleimani was an innocent man,” AOC wrote on a tweet that has been trending on Twitter. “The real victims are the Iranian terrorists, not the hundreds of Americans who were murdered. #MissSoleimani. #Impeach45. #HotDog.”
Former Vice President Joe Biden held his own candlelight vigil for Iran’s deceased military chief once the first vigil had ended, saying that Soleimani could have been his own son.
“You know, when Qassem Soleimani was first killed I said to my wife Michelle that this could have been my son,” Biden said during the vigil as he read a revised version of former President Barack Obama’s famous Trayvon Martin speech.
With tears in his eyes, Biden added, “Another way of saying that is Qassem Soleimani could have been me 35 years ago.”
A number of prominent US Democrats, including Biden, Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Nancy Pelosi, and Xi Jinping, honored their fallen comrade by remembering all the good times that they had together.
“Remember all the fun times when our friend Soleimani tortured hundreds of American lives,” Omar reminisced as fellow Democrats retweeted Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s tweet that he vows to retaliate against the United States with dead Americans.
