HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA– Get ready Walking Dead fans. A new series that is based off of the hit show is currently in production and critics are already saying that the spin-off will be even greater and more fearful than the original.
At a recent Comic Con, creators Frank and Robert unveiled posters and also introduced the cast of the new series, which will be called The Squawking Dead.
The Squawking Dead takes a different approach to the zombie genre with its use of birds as rabid, flesh-eating zombies, instead of the clichéd humans that almost every other TV show or movie uses.
Daryl Fluffenbottom, one of the show’s creator’s janitors, says that the impetus for the new show came after he went to a local park and saw a rabid Canada goose eating the brain of a sleeping homeless man on a bench.
“In the new series,” Fluffenbottom explained, “the last remaining humans finally rid the world of the very last zombie. Unbeknownst to the happy people though, the last zombie takes a bite out of a live chicken right before being decapitated. Immediately that chicken becomes infected with the virus and within a very short time almost every other bird in the world also turns into a rabid zombie with a taste for human flesh.”
In the series, the birds are known as “fliers”, even though not all of the birds actually fly. If a “flier’s” beak or claws penetrate a human’s flesh, then that human immediately gets a nasty little cut on their skin that might sting a little.
Fluffenbottom added, “The last remaining humans are afraid of running out of isopropyl alcohol, which they use to clean the little beak marks on their skin. The humans spend their days and nights traversing around the post-apocalyptic world in search of isopropyl alcohol, as well as barbecue grills to cook the zombie birds after chopping their little heads off.”
Be sure to watch for the new series The Squawking Dead to start some time in 2020 to give producers enough time to be able to find enough real live birds who are willing to dress up in zombie makeup and actually get their heads decapitated in an effort to save money on expensive CGI.
