PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND– A teen girl from Providence was taken to the emergency room Sunday after several other girls started calling her names and making fun of her, disproving the old adage that only sticks and stones can break bones.
According to Detective Frank Columbo, the 15 year old girl was walking home from church when a group of girls from her class at Sweet Valley High came up to her and started calling her names.

“The victim was on her way home when she was accosted by girls from a different clique,” the detective said as he showed reporters a chart with all the myriad teen girl cliques from Sweet Valley High. “Apparently the victim belonged to a different group of girls who always sits at another table in the school lunchroom and there’s always a lot of tension among these two groups of girls, especially when it comes to hair, hot guys, and tweeting about what each other’s doing.”
The 15 year old victim, whose name is being withheld due to the stupidity of the crime, was airlifted to a local hospital after receiving multiple name-calling wounds and various insult injuries to her ego.
The detective is warning parents to be on the look out for signs of name injuries to their children, such as emotional bruising, Twitter trauma, and unwillingness to post to Facebook.
“We’re calling on all parents to be more vigilant,” the detective added, showing startled reporters a photo of his daughter. “This’s my 14 year old girl Macy. She too was a victim of name-calling and ended up in the hospital due to name-calling injuries. I tried warning her so many times by telling her that sticks and stones won’t break your bones but names will hurt you, but she didn’t listen till it was too late.”
