NEW DELHI, INDIA — Indian authorities appealed to the public Thursday for assistance in identifying a suspected serial killer believed to be responsible for approximately 300,000 deaths over the past decade, releasing a photograph of the suspect and warning citizens to exercise extreme caution if they encounter him.
According to police, the suspect is believed to be highly mobile, operates primarily along designated railway corridors, and has repeatedly been observed approaching crowded areas at high speeds before fleeing the scene. Investigators described the suspect as extremely dangerous, noting that despite a lengthy record of fatalities, he has never been successfully apprehended.
“We believe this individual is responsible for an extraordinary number of deaths, and we are asking anyone who recognizes him to come forward immediately,” said Inspector Rajesh Kumar, holding up a police sketch of a passenger locomotive at a press conference. “He has been operating in plain sight for years, and we’re concerned that members of the public may be unknowingly putting themselves in his path.”
Police described the suspect as a long, rectangular entity made of solid steel, weighing approximately 400 metric tons, and equipped with a loud horn that it reportedly blows moments before striking its victims.
At press time, police announced that the suspect had been spotted approaching a crowded railway crossing near Mumbai, where hundreds of Indian onlookers immediately rushed onto the tracks to get a closer look and take selfies.
