WASHINGTON — Federal agents searching Rep. Ilhan Omar’s home during a pre-dawn raid reportedly discovered an unexpected additional occupant hiding inside the congresswoman’s headscarf, prompting investigators to expand their search warrant to include what officials described as an unusually complicated piece of fabric.
According to sources familiar with the operation, agents initially believed the oversized headscarf was simply covering Omar’s head until they noticed it breathing, sweating, and asking for a bowl of bananas and rice. The discovery reportedly came after investigators began examining documents connected to allegations of immigration fraud and questions surrounding Omar’s past brother marriage.
“We were checking the living room for immigration filings, tax records, and grant paperwork when an agent noticed breathing coming from her headwear,” said the lead investigator during a brief press conference. “After a closer inspection, we extracted a fully grown adult Somali male who immediately identified himself as both her sibling and her primary dependent.”
Ilhan Omar’s office dismissed the investigation as a ridiculous fabrication intended to distract from the real issues facing Americans, including white supremacy, Islamophobia, and the alarming possibility that federal agents might begin asking questions about other foreign-born members of Congress.
At press time, Omar was reportedly preparing to hold a press conference denouncing the raid as an unprecedented violation of religious freedom, while federal agents searched a nearby suitcase after hearing someone inside whisper, “I’m definitely not her cousin, either.”
