PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND– A longtime CNN viewer announced that she has stopped watching the network entirely and now relies exclusively on North Korean state television, saying it provides a healthier mix of honesty, restraint, and openly acknowledged propaganda.
“I just got tired of being lied to with a straight face,” said former CNN loyalist Shelley Reynolds, who described the switch as “liberating.” “North Korea doesn’t pretend. The anchor looks you in the eye and basically says, ‘Everything is perfect because our leader says so.’ That’s refreshing. CNN insists they’re neutral while screaming at me in unison.”
Reynolds said the breaking point came after CNN ran its twelfth “exclusive” panel discussion of the day featuring six people who all somehow agreed on everything while pretending to argue.
“At least in North Korea, there’s only one opinion,” she said. “CNN gives you one opinion but wraps it in graphics, ominous music, and the illusion of debate.”
CNN executives responded by assuring viewers that the network remains “the most trusted name in news,” citing an internal poll conducted among CNN executives.
