OTTAWA, CANADA– In an amusing revelation that has left liberal Canadians questioning their collective intelligence, Prime Minister Mark Carney admitted today that his iconic “Elbows Up” election campaign slogan was nothing more than an elaborate social experiment designed to gauge just how gullible the nation’s voters could be.
Speaking at a press conference to address all of the campaign promises he has already broken, PM Mark Carney confessed that the ubiquitous “Elbows Up” phrase that was plastered across campaign signs, chanted at rallies, and even tattooed on the noodle arms of his most fervent left-leaning supporters, was merely a joke to measure the national stupidity of liberal voters.
“We wanted to, um, see how far we could push it before liberals realized they were getting played,” said Carney with a barely suppressed smirk, putting his elbows up as a way to mock the Canadians who fell for the ruse. “At first I thought that, uh, there’s no way even a liberal voter could be this stupid. I thought at least after a couple months they’d realize they were being mocked. But nope. I, um, definitely didn’t think you all were that retarded.”
The admission has sparked confusion, ridicule, and even agreement across the Great White North country, as many Mark Carney supporters still didn’t understand that the prime minister had fooled them even after he had admitted it.
Just for the fun of it, Carney decided to see if he could take the social experiment even further and told his liberal supporters that he was unveiling a new national slogan “Elbows Down, Asses Up” in response to President Donald Trump’s latest tariff response.
