U.S.– The Avengers have been embroiled in a massive scandal this week after it was revealed that the superheroes mistakenly added the warlord Thanos to their Signal group chat where they were discussing their plans on obtaining the Infinity Stones to reverse the supervillain’s Snap.
The gaffe was discovered when an anonymous source told CNN that there was a plan to travel back in time to retrieve the Infinity Stones to undo the Thanos Snap, bringing back half of the universe that had been erased. The group chat was traced back to superheroes Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and Black Widow.
“Someone unintentionally added Thanos to our group chat,” said Iron Man calmly to Fox News on Thursday. “We were discussing only a minor military operation, but no war plans were discussed and thankfully nothing classified was released. The world should be focused on all the good we’ve accomplished, rather than focusing on this Signal witch hunt being pushed by fake news CNN and other biased news outlets.”
Critics of the Avengers have labeled the superhero team incompetent and dangerous, calling on them to resign and be prosecuted for possibly putting the surviving members of the world’s population at risk.
Numerous people took to the streets to protest the Avengers by lighting fires in front of the Avengers Compound and spray-painting swastikas on the building. “I’d rather live under Thanos’s rule than those Nazi Avengers,” said one angry, blue-haired female as she keyed the side of Tony Stark’s car.
The Avengers stated that in the future they plan on using a more secure way of communication by discussing all sensitive plans on the obsolete Myspace.
