VINELAND, NEW JERSEY– An angry New Jersey man is suing a deer that ran out in front of his car last week, claiming the deer caused him to swerve into a ditch and total the front of the car.
The lawsuit filed by the driver Buck Venison alleges that the deer was jaywalking before stopping in the middle of the major highway to tighten one of its hooves that had come loose.
The man claims the deer suddenly ran out in front of his car and then purposely stopped in front of him to fix its hoof. He says the deer then laughed and gave him the middle hoof after he crashed his car along the side of the road.
The deer told police a different story, saying that the driver had come to an almost complete stop and then waved him on to cross the street, but as soon as the deer began crossing the highway the driver took off at a high speed in an effort to hit the deer.
According to the deer’s lawyer Roe Moose, the incident involved road rage and stemmed from the driver’s hatred for deer.
“In my professional opinion this was attempted murder,” said the deer’s lawyer, turning it around and putting the blame solely on the driver Venison.
Venison is suing the deer for $69,430 to cover both the damage to the vehicle and for pain and suffering, due to the fact that he sustained a broken fingernail from the car crash.
Opinions were split on social media, with some people saying the deer was in the wrong for not waiting until there were no vehicle’s approaching and others claim the driver was only picking on the animal because he’s deerophobic.
