NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK– Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was stricken with grief after hearing the news that she had destroyed her Democratic challenger by such a huge margin to win New York’s 14th congressional district primary, giving her sobbing concession speech during a live press conference.
The 30-year-old freshman Democrat was inconsolable when her campaign manager came running into her office with the happy news that she had easily beat her opponent Michelle Caruso-Cabrera, a former journalist who began questioning her own acumen after losing to someone like AOC.
“I can’t believe I lost,” Ms. Ocasio-Cortez said during her live concession speech as tears streamed down her trembling cheeks. “I was told by George Soros I was a shoe-in to win a second term in Congress due to my otherworldly intelligence. Is it still racist if my opponent is also Hispanic? Maybe it was anti-racism racism.”
Later AOC tweeted out a message to all her fans, asking why her millions of Twitter followers hadn’t voted for her in the primary.
“I was very disappointed when I heard I lost by such a huge margin,” Ms. Ocasio-Cortez wrote in her latest tweet before she congratulated her opponent on her loss. “If I ever find out where my district is located, I’ll stop by and wish my opponent Michelle congratulations on her win.”
AOC went on to say that even though she only spends about 30 minutes a month working within her district, she’s still there with her constituents in spirit doing a full day’s work.
Many of AOC’s upset fans took to Twitter to also voice their disappointment at her depressing victory, telling the congresswoman she should demand a full recount even though all the thousands of mail-in ballots have yet to be tallied.
“This is another case of rampant systemic racism,” tweeted one AOC supporter on her disheartening win. “Once again white supremacy ruins the political aspirations of another person of color. Sad.”
An unidentified ballot harvester responded to AOC’s tweet and assured everyone that the huge increase in postal ballots had absolutely nothing to do with AOC’s upsetting win.
