U.S.– CNBC Mad Money host Jim Cramer has made yet another controversial prediction on Groundhog Day after coming out of his studio and seeing his shadow in the snow, thereby predicting there would be an early spring.
On his show this morning, Jim Cramer announced that he was extremely confident that the US would have an early spring due to seeing his shadow, only minutes after famous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and predicted six more weeks of winter.
“Who are you going to believe, me or a groundhog?” Jim Cramer yelled at the camera. “I’m so confident that there will be an early spring that if I were a betting man I’d bet it all on spring, possibly even summer, coming within the next week. Trust me, I’m an expert and I know what I’m talking about, or my name’s not John Connor.”
According to tradition, if a groundhog sees its shadow on Groundhog Day then it means there will be six more weeks of winter. Jim Cramer claims that according to his research it’s actually the exact opposite.
“Bet, bet, bet it all on an early spring,” shouted Cramer as a massive snowstorm began outside the studio. “By this time next week we’ll be wearing bathing suits in Buffalo, New York.”
At publishing time, Cramer also told his audience to bet everything they own that tomorrow morning the sun would definitely rise in the west.
