WASHINGTON– Donald Trump’s pick for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has continued to face increased scrutiny for his past alcohol abuse, with Democrat Nancy Pelosi blasting Trump for nominating someone with a penchant for alcohol as she downed an entire bottle of vodka to quench her thirst.
Sitting inside of a local bar while she was supposed to be working for her constituents, Pelosi berated the bartender for allowing Pete Hegseth to be nominated as well as trying to cut her off after her fourth bottle of vodka.
“Who do you three guys think you are?” Pelosi asked in slurred speech, speaking to the bartender. “We can’t have a man with a past alcohol problem running the Pentagon, but it’s perfectly fine for an alcoholic to be working in Congress or to be the Democrat candidate for president.”
When confronted by the bartender about her being a drunken member of Congress, Pelosi said there was nothing hypocritical about it because, unlike Hegseth, she has the ability to control herself and can work perfectly fine while intoxicated.
It was later reported that the only reason Pelosi disapproved of Pete Hegseth being confirmed was because she didn’t want any other alcoholics working for the government who may try to take the drinks out of her office liquor cabinet.
