NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK– During an interview with CNN, rabid Trump-hater Larry David confessed to Chris Wallace his disdain for the former president, which drew the attention of Sesame Street Muppet Elmo who posted a photo of himself wearing a MAGA hat on his personal Twitter X account to troll the crotchety actor.
According to Elmo, the impetus for him posting a photo on social media wearing the Make America Great Again hat was to get a little revenge against the comedian Larry David for the Today show episode where David choked the Muppet in front of a shocked studio audience.
“F**k Larry David,” wrote Elmo uncharacteristically on Twitter X, not mincing words. “That little old man thinks he can try to choke me out on live TV and laugh about it afterwards and then think I’m supposed to forget all about it. I laughed watching him have that meltdown about Donald Trump on CNN and thought what better way to get under Larry’s skin than to wear his favorite red hat.”
Elmo went on to say that he is using Larry’s technique against him, referring to the Curb Your Enthusiasm episode where Larry David’s character wore a MAGA hat to keep people away from him.
The jovial red Muppet tagged David in the post, writing simply, “Hey, Larry. Make America Great Again.” Elmo also said that his wearing of the MAGA hat was not an endorsement of Donald Trump, or that he wants to make America great again, being that he’s not actually a real, living being, just a puppet with a man’s fist shoved into his hole.
At publishing time, Elmo had been fired from Sesame Street for wearing the hat and has already been accused by the FBI for taking part in the January 6th riot.
