HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA– After getting lambasted on Truth Social by Donald Trump for needing a teleprompter to speak, actor Robert De Niro challenged the former president to a debate to see who could adlib the best and then went out and purchased a pair of brand new high-heeled dress shoes for the verbal fight.
“Right here, right now, I’m challenging that schmuck Trump to a debate,” wrote De Niro on his official Twitter X account, calling out Trump. “Come on, Trump, what do you gotta lose, you coward? I’m so sure I’ll beat you in this debate that I went out a bought a pair of new, flat-soled shoes just so I can look you right in the eyes and say, ‘You talkin’ to me?'”
De Niro attached a cropped photo of the new brown shoes with the caption: “Look at these gorgeous flat shoes with absolutely no heel whatsoever. I’ll be so big when I debate that orange buffoon Trump that I might just end up looking right over his big, fat head.”
The irate actor had one of his writers post a strongly worded challenge to Trump on all his social media accounts in the hopes that the billionaire businessman would accept his offer with the addition of a few stipulations.
“Hey, I don’t trust that clown Trump, so I have a few demands if we’re gonna debate,” wrote De Niro. “There are three ways of doing things around here. The right way, the wrong way, and the way I do it. So if and when we debate, I’m gonna need a very small screen that’s totally not a teleprompter sitting on my podium, for uh, um, in case that dummy Trump says something dumb then I can write it down. Yeah, that’s it.”
When reached for comment, Trump said he’ll agree to the debate as long as it’s on the beach wearing only flipflops. No word on whether De Niro went out and purchased a pair of 15-inch high heel flipflops.
So with the 15 inch lifts that makes de Niro 5 foot 9?
