TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA– During a campaign stop in California, Republican Presidential candidate Ron DeSantis unveiled some new policies that he plans on implementing if elected in 2024, including a national 6-hour ban on abortions.
Earlier this year, Governor DeSantis signed a bill banning abortions after six weeks in Florida, but recently stated that the bill didn’t go far enough and promised to ban any abortions after six hours of having sex in all fifty states.
“Our six week ban was good, but not great,” said DeSantis to a large crowd of twenty supporters while thousands of abortion activists protested outside. “We need to start taking this abortion issue a little more seriously. I’m certain that the majority of the country will agree with me that a 6-hour abortion ban is both a fair and popular decision.”
According to a recent poll, 99% of the country stated they believe that a 6-hour ban on abortion is a little extreme, but DeSantis doubled down on his policy and said that he doesn’t believe in the fake polls and that banning abortion almost immediately after sex will help him to win the general presidential election.
“I think a 6-hour ban on abortion is a good start,” said DeSantis. “Some of my advisers are telling me that a ban on abortions after six hours is still not enough and that perhaps I’m being too liberal. I don’t know, maybe when I get into office I’ll just ban sex altogether.”
DeSantis explained he may possibly leave some exemptions for rape and incest victims by giving those women up to sixteen hours to decide on abortion.
In a recent interview, Donald Trump called DeSantis’ proposed 6-hour abortion ban a “terrible mistake,” drawing criticism from some Republicans who accused the former president of being a left-wing libtard who’s secretly working for the Democrats.
