PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA– A mannequin has come under fire on social media for ignoring two black customers who walked into the store, prompting the business to issue an apology for the dummy’s allegedly racist snub.
The black female customers told CNN news reporters that the white mannequin stood silent as they entered into the building, refusing to acknowledge that they existed and making them feel like lower class citizens.
Members of the NAACP were on the scene of the protest along with the Reverend Al Sharpton who has called on the racist mannequin to be charged with a hate crime.
“I’m so disgusted at the blatant display of racism against these two innocent black customers,” said Sharpton as he pocketed the money he made from his appearance. “This is racial discrimination plain and simple, and this racist display harkens back to a time when mannequins still owned black slaves.”
Surveillance video from the store backs up the customer’s claims, showing the mannequin standing frozen silent and ignoring the two women as they walked by. The store quickly issued an apology and stated that the mannequin was quickly fired from its position and then promptly disposed of in a dumpster out back.
The two customers are currently suing the business for $44 trillion and are claiming that the incident has caused them so much distress that they can no longer go shopping for fear of being attacked by bigoted white supremacist dummies.
