HIMALAYAN, FLORIDA– Some phone service providers offer their customers the ability to verify if a call is really from the number displayed on caller ID. Many more providers are promising to get on board with fighting against unwanted cat calls.
Everyone who pays for phone service is fed up with constant cat calls flooding their phones day and night. Many customers are even asking government officials to do something about the large increase of cats calling their phones with spam, scam, and hangups.
Many cats use something called “shedding”, where they hide their identity by showing a human’s phone number on the caller ID.
Phone service providers AT&T and Comcast have already come up with special anti-cat call technology called DE-CLAW/NEUTER, which verifies whether a number is from an authentic human and not a cat spammer.
This new technology won’t completely stop cat calls, but the tool will give humans the ability to detect if the call is actually from a human.
The latest YouTube Cat Call Index shows that 6.9 billion cat calls were placed in March alone. It must be noted that even though there are almost 200 million cats in the United States alone, not all cats are devious cat callers.
Mittens is a 9 year old tabby cat who says that cats who call humans for nefarious purposes should be ashamed of themselves.
“These cat calling scammers give the rest of us felines a bad reputation,” Mittens said as he licked his tail. “I just want the humans to know that not all us cats are bad kitties. Us cats in general don’t condone this kind of behavior. We’re just peaceful animals really.”
