PUNXSUTAWNEY, PENNSYLVANIA– America’s most famous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil has shocked everyone by making his most bizarre prediction in history.
In front of a large crowd of surprised people, groundhog Phil came out of his hole and saw the shadow of Hollywood actor Bill Murray, meaning there will be another six weeks of Groundhog Day.
While the world was busy predicting whether Phil would see his shadow or not and whether there would be another six weeks of winter, the devious rodent was calling up his old friend Bill Murray for advice. As most people know by now, Bill Murray played iconic character Phil Connors in the fantasy-comedy film Groundhog Day.
Groundhog Day was Punxsutawney Phil’s big acting break and the lovable little guy has been living the fast life ever since.
After starring in the movie, Phil went on to do guest appearances on numerous talk shows and also had a starring role in a musical of the same name. A mild grass habit and a year of addiction treatment kept Phil out of the spotlight for a few years.
On Murray’s advice, Phil used impressive CGI to transform his own shadow into that of famous actor Bill Murray, thus giving us six more weeks of Groundhog Day.
Phil says that having to do the same scene over and over again in the movie Groundhog Day was torture, but that it pales in comparison to the torture of having to be a spectacle to the world every year for Groundhog Day. He claims that once these six weeks of daily Groundhog Day are finally over then perhaps humans will understand what he has to go through every year of his life just for their amusement.
