NEW YORK, NEW YORK– Move over Alvin. A man out of New York has successfully trained three real life chipmunks to not only play musical instruments but to also sing, dance, and take female groupies backstage to feed them peanuts.
The name of the chipmunk trio is Sciuridae. The name is the classification that the little rodents belong to.
According to the chipmunks’ manager, Sciuridae will release their first album Pine Heaven before Christmas. Balding executives want to give the world plenty of time to get used to the fact that these chipmunks don’t squeak but can actually speak the English language.
Seville David, the guy who trained the chipmunks, says that teaching the animals to speak English was quite easy. The hardest part of the training was giving them each their own names.
“Alvin, Simon, and Theodore were already taken,” David said with a smile. “It only took me about a week to teach them how to properly speak English and also play the musical instruments, but it took me over three months to come up with their names. Some dad I am, huh?”
After much deliberation, David decided to call the three cute guys Albert, Simone, and Thurston, which he says sounds nothing like Alvin, Simon, and Theodore.
When asked how he knows which chipmunk is which, David shrugged his shoulders and laughed.
“I don’t know. They all look the same to me. Guess I should’ve used three different animals instead.”
Look for the new album Sciuridae: Pine Heaven in pet stores starting on Thanksgiving.
