BILOXI, MISSISSIPPI– A corn chip in the shape of a squirrel recently sold on eBay for a staggering $10,000, making this the most money anyone has ever spent on a squirrel-shaped corn chip.
In an interview with the Biloxi Times, the corn chip’s original owner, 34 year old housewife Bobbie Sue Geisel, explained that this wasn’t the first time that she’s sold oddly shaped pieces of food on eBay.
“I’ve sold 13 special-shaped foods on eBay already,” she said in a strong southern drawl. “The first one I ever sold on eBay was a cracker shaped like a bunny rabbit for over $4000.”
Even though the identity of the person who purchased the squirrel-shaped corn chip remains a mystery, southern girl Bobbie Sue says that she believes it went to a good person.
“I know the squirrel went to a good home,” she said as she adjusted her hair curlers. “I always make sure I put on my eBay descriptions that I want my food shapes to go to a good home. I tell everyone to make sure they don’t have the food around them when it’s suppertime, just so they don’t get the urge to eat it.”
