MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA — Investigative journalist James O’Keefe reportedly found himself in an unexpectedly uncomfortable situation this week after going undercover as one of Rep. Ilhan Omar’s alleged brothers in an attempt to uncover evidence related to the congresswoman’s ongoing corruption and immigration controversies, finding himself the recipient of intense, high-level romantic advances from the Minnesota congresswoman.
According to sources familiar with the operation, O’Keefe spent weeks preparing his disguise, studying Somali customs, practicing a new accent, applying a thick layer of heavy stage bronzer and a glued-on afro, and assembling an elaborate backstory that would allow him to pass as a long-lost member of Omar’s family.
“I went into this operation expecting to uncover information about alleged corruption,” O’Keefe reportedly explained in a dramatic preview of his upcoming documentary. “What we did not anticipate was that within four minutes of meeting me, she would light three scented candles, turn down the lights, and ask if I wanted to share a single bowl of bananas and rice.”
O’Keefe said he considered abandoning the operation when Omar reportedly began telling him he had her father’s eyes, asking about his plans for the holidays and whether he would be attending the next family gathering.
At press time, Omar’s campaign team had already sent O’Keefe three follow-up text messages asking if he was free next weekend for a double date with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her step-cousin.
