OTTAWA, CANADA — Prime Minister Mark Carney was honored with the prestigious “Employee of the Year” award this week after conducting an exhaustive review of all employees at the federal government and determining that he was, by a wide margin, the most deserving candidate.
“I am deeply humbled to receive this recognition,” Mark Carney said while presenting the trophy to himself during a ceremony attended by several government officials who had not been informed they were expected to attend. “This award represents the culmination of a year of extraordinary dedication, leadership, and, most importantly, being Mark Carney.”
Carney formally presented himself with a massive crystal plaque shaped like a soaring eagle, alongside a $50,000 government-issued bonus check, which he casually folded and slipped into the breast pocket of his bespoke tuxedo.
During his 45-minute acceptance speech, Carney thanked himself for his tireless dedication, praised his own ability to pivot seamlessly in a dynamic marketplace, and asked the audience to give him a standing ovation for successfully enduring the burden of being surrounded by intellectual inferiors.
At press time, Carney was reportedly preparing to hold an annual employee appreciation dinner for himself, with Carney expected to deliver a keynote address thanking Carney for his years of dedicated service to Canada.
