U.S.– After seeing the shift to a more conservative America with the win of Donald Trump and Elon Musk loosening regulations on Twitter X, Mark Zuckerberg has promised to bring free speech to social media platform Facebook by banning no more than a hundred thousand conservative accounts per day.
Mark Zuckerberg posted an impromptu message on his official Facebook account telling the world the great news that he wants the social media platform to be everyone’s voice once again, as long as the quota of banned rightwing accounts has been met first.
“I plan on taking Facebook in a whole new direction of free speech,” said Zuckerberg on the five minute video right before catching a fly with his tongue. “With the rise of populism and conservatism, President Trump’s presidential win, and with one of my biggest competitors Elon Musk making X a little more free speech, I also plan on doing less censoring on Facebook. So, instead of banning millions of Republican’s posts per month I will only be banning hundreds of thousands. You’re welcome.”
The CEO of Meta wanted to make it perfectly clear that free speech doesn’t mean free speech in the literal sense of the word, but more metaphorically.
“Free speech on Facebook is more metaphorical. Get it?” Zuckerberg asked with a chuckle. “Come on, I’m the CEO of Meta and the first four words of metaphorical are “Meta.”
