PLYMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS \u2014 Several female jurors who deliberated in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial reportedly said they felt “unsafe” in the jury room after one male juror repeatedly insisted that viciously killing three children should have legal consequences.<\/p>\n

According to the women, deliberations derailed whenever the male holdout focused on accountability and refused to accept their psychological theories, instead focusing on the physical evidence.<\/p>\n

“He kept bringing up the children,” said one female juror who spoke to NBC. “We were trying to have a nuanced conversation about Lindsay’s trauma, her mental health and everything she had been through, and he would just interrupt and say things like, ‘But three children are dead.’ It was incredibly triggering. I literally felt unsafe.”<\/p>\n

The jurors reportedly attempted several approaches to make the male holdout reconsider his position, including encouraging him to “sit with his feelings,” examine his assumptions, watch hours of TikTok videos<\/a>, and consider whether his definition of accountability might be influenced by “carceral thinking.”<\/p>\n
