WASHINGTON\u00a0\u2014 What began as a routine diplomatic greeting at the White House reportedly turned awkward Tuesday after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu simultaneously reached for President Trump’s wallet during a ceremonial embrace.<\/p>\n

According to witnesses, the two leaders exchanged warm smiles, shook hands, leaned in for the customary world-leader hug, and then froze after discovering each had discreetly slipped a hand into the same back pocket to pickpocket Trump.<\/p>\n

“They made eye contact for about three seconds,” reported one Secret Service agent stationed by the door. “There was this silent understanding of, ‘…You too?'”<\/p>\n

Sources said neither leader appeared embarrassed by the incident. Instead, each reportedly looked mildly offended that the other had beaten them to the same idea.<\/p>\n
