TORONTO, CANADA \u2014 In a startling shift from the gentle woodland life that defined his early years, a new book on beloved children\u2019s character Franklin the Turtle has been released titled Franklin Doesn\u2019t Recognize Canada Anymore, a heartwarming tale about Franklin\u2019s journey to discover that his Canadian neighborhood has been overrun with millions of immigrants.<\/p>\n
The story follows the green turtle as he returns to his once-familiar pond only to find it filled with turtles wearing turbans, speaking Punjabi, and opening multiple convenience stores along the shoreline. At one point, Franklin politely asks a new neighbor named Raj if he knows where all the Canadian turtles went, only to learn that Raj doesn’t speak English.<\/p>\n
As Franklin navigates a diverse Canada, he notices a group of foreign turtles pooping on his favorite log, only to be told that the log is now considered a public toilet.<\/p>\n
“I think I just stepped in poop,” Franklin says in one passage, wiping off his foot. “I can’t even walk in my own neighborhood anymore.”<\/p>\n
By the final pages, Franklin is seen sitting alone on the edge of the water at sunset, flipping through a photo album, before being approached by the cheerful prime minister who reminds him that change is a natural part of life and that he will need to be euthanized to make room for a family of 17 foreigners who need his home.<\/p>\n
