WASHINGTON \u2014 Attorney General Pam Bondi reportedly warned Americans this week that arresting criminals could create a slippery slope in which laws are enforced, expectations are raised, and powerful people become uncomfortable\u2014a development she described as reckless, destabilizing, and not what television is for.<\/p>\n
During her 420th Fox News appearance this week, Bondi explained to host Sean Hannity that indicting Washington criminals would risk creating a culture where crimes are followed by consequences. It could also set unrealistic standards for future attorneys general, who might then feel pressured to prosecute crimes instead of merely discussing them at length.<\/p>\n
“Look, Sean, we have to be careful,” Pam Bondi said, checking her reflection in the glass of a nearby camera lens. “If I start arresting corrupt Democrats, Epstein clients, or the Somali fraud ring in Minnesota, we\u2019re setting a very dangerous precedent. We\u2019re telling the world that in America, if you commit a massive federal crime, there might be consequences. And is that really the kind of country we want to live in?”<\/p>\n
After saying that no one was above the law, Bondi added, “Once you arrest one criminal, people expect you to arrest others. And before you know it, you\u2019re expected to arrest Russia-collusion hoaxers, January 6 committee members, autopen conspirators, DOGE fraud beneficiaries, and election fraud participants.”<\/p>\n
