LONDON, UK– British police confirmed Thursday that Santa Claus has been formally charged with a hate crime after he was stabbed by a Pakistani immigrant during a Christmas Eve delivery in London, following what authorities described as his \u201cdeeply irresponsible decision to describe the suspect.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to the Metropolitan Police, Santa was attacked while exiting a chimney in East London and suffered non life threatening injuries. Officers arrived on the scene shortly afterward, where Santa allegedly compounded the incident by telling them what his attacker looked like and where he came from.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt that point, the situation escalated,\u201d said a police spokesperson. \u201cWe had a victim of a stabbing, which is tragic. But we also had language. And language is where the real danger lies.\u201d<\/p>\n
Police clarified that the stabbing itself is being treated as a \u201ccontextual lifestyle disagreement\u201d and remains under review, while Santa\u2019s verbal account was immediately logged as a hate incident and fast tracked for prosecution.<\/p>\n
\u201cStabbings are complex,\u201d the spokesperson added. \u201cBut statements are much easier to process.\u201d<\/p>\n
Witnesses say Santa was placed in handcuffs while bleeding and advised of his rights, which included the right to remain silent \u201cfor everyone\u2019s safety.\u201d His sack of gifts was seized as evidence and later given to a boatload of newly arrived African migrants.<\/p>\n
